Details

KPV is a tripeptide of L-lysine, L-proline and L-valine, corresponding to residues 11-13 at the C-terminus of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (CAS 67727-97-3, molecular formula C16H30N4O4, MW 342.43 g/mol, PubChem CID 125672). At 342 g/mol it is the smallest peptide in the catalog, so a 10mg vial holds a good deal more material by mole than the milligram figure suggests. It carries no cysteine and therefore no free thiol, one fewer route to oxidation than the sulfur-bearing peptides here, but it is supplied lyophilized at ≥99% purity and kept at -20°C and out of the light all the same. An outside lab runs the analytical work — HPLC, mass spectrometry — for every batch; ask about documentation. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or animal consumption. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
